What is a manuscript review?
A manuscript review is an overview of your manuscript that identifies areas for improvement on craft-based elements such as character, structure, pacing, theme, conflict, voice, and narrative style.
Why hire me?
About me: I am a multi-genre fiction writer with over eight years of experience in the literary community. In 2019, I published my first short story Knowing Ji Zhao and was awarded second place in the Robyn Herrington Short Story Contest. Since then I’ve published additional short fiction including Strong Memories with Radical Bookshop and A Memory of Colour with Lintusen Press. My debut novel The Christmas Curse, a contemporary holiday romcom, will be published internationally by Doubleday Canada in October 2026. I also have a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Medical Sciences, and a diploma in Creative Writing.
What you can expect: My manuscript review style matches the standards of the professional editors I’ve had the pleasure of working with, including Barbara Joan Scott (freelance editor and award-winning author of The Taste of Hunger) and Megan Kwan (assistant editor at Doubleday Canada). I provide in-text comments to capture first impressions and minor suggestions, along with a separate overview outlining broader feedback on plot, character, and pacing. I will also touch on marketability where applicable. My goal is to offer specific, actionable, constructive feedback that preserves your voice and leaves you enthusiastic to revise and grow.
My genres: I specialize in romance, women’s fiction, contemporary fiction, speculative fiction, and psychological horror and thrillers.
